Gmundner Fertigteile modernizes with new production hall
Gmundner Fertigteile, a traditional family business and part of Asamer Kies- & Betonwerke and the Stern Group, celebrated the construction of its new production and assembly hall with a topping-out ceremony on June 19, 2024. This significant step was a necessary investment, as the old production hall was no longer able to meet the changing demand and current market conditions. With the new production hall, the Ohlsdorf-based company is adapting optimally to the changing market conditions and ensuring that it can continue to supply high-quality precast concrete parts and track covering systems all over the world.
The new production hall
With a length of 85 meters, a width of 25 meters and a height of 16 meters, as well as an integrated 60-ton crane, the new hall is an impressive structure that is being built right next to the company headquarters in Ohlsdorf. Construction work began in March and completion is scheduled for the end of the year. “This investment is not only a step towards modernizing our infrastructure, but also a significant contribution to strengthening the region and creating new jobs, ” explains Managing Director Christof Neumann.
Focus on sustainability
Over the past decades, Gmundner Fertigteile has developed into a globally recognized specialist for innovative infrastructure solutions. Their products are characterized by high reliability, long service life and resistance to extreme loads and climatic challenges. In this way, they make an important contribution to sustainability and resource conservation. The environmentally friendly approach and the focus on ecological, economic and social responsibility are a central component of the corporate strategy. An outstanding example of this is the photovoltaic system at the company headquarters, which produces 50% of the electricity consumed.
Future-oriented further development
The company has been established worldwide as an expert in innovative infrastructure solutions made of reinforced and polymer concrete for over 50 years. Its highly motivated and well-trained team continuously develops new and innovative complete solutions together with its customers. “With the construction of the new production hall, we are sending a strong signal for our future development and our innovative strength. We are convinced that this expansion will enable us to further consolidate our position as one of the leading suppliers of precast concrete elements and offer our customers even better solutions,” emphasizes Managing Director Thomas Danner
